Harness your heart and be still now.
I’ve been meaning to post an entry for the new year since last week, but I didn’t have the heart to put the Wii joystick down. I’ve been doing nothing these past two weeks but fan girl, play Wii, read (e)books, and watch some movies. I haven’t even done my paper for my audio visual comm class yet. But I must accept the ugly truth cos that “Sunday night feeling” is already starting to creep up on me. Playtime’s over. If it weren’t for my friends I wouldn’t want to go to school tomorrow. I’m not even sure if my prof would hold a class tomorrow cos it’s only our first day back.
Since I’m already at this, I might as well post something to commemorate 2011, my bittersweet year. Sorry, cheesy tagline is cheesy. Except for my two major loses, one being the death of my lola and the other failing a major subject, I think last year actually brilliant.
I don’t really remember specifically most of what happened last since I have a bad memory, but I still have many things to be thankful for (even if some made me angry/mad/sad/hopeless and whatnot haha).
Thank You for my brother’s first birthday party, for the new music genre that I am now also listening to, for the out of town trips, for the crazy adventure at Subic Tree Top, and for letting me experience 7 degrees celsius weather.
Thank You for the pre-Valentine’s day surprises, for the new black pumps, for making me go crazy over my busted DSL connection at home, for letting me write my paper at my bestfriend’s house or at SM food court, and for the We The Kings, The Maine and Never Shout Never concert.
Thank You for letting me and my partner pull off an impromptu oral report for our intercultural comm class, for letting us meet journalists, writers and the boys of Boys Night Out, and for giving me the courage to finish the subject even if I knew I was going to fail anyway.
Thank You for making me see the importance of taking that one summer class, for the sleep overs and random adventures with the favorite, for letting me like someone briefly, for guiding me when I am driving while drunk, for FBCP and for relieving my grandma from the physical pain that she courageously dealt with for over 4 years.
Thank You for hair cuts, for giving my mom the strength to cope with each day and move on, and for letting me get a high grade in a subject I didn’t work so hard for.
Thank You for the long weekends spent reading, for the fun subjects and nice professors, and for letting me cope.
Thank You for letting me and my groupmates find a good resource person for our OrCom 142 case study and for the 1.0 we got for that report, for first times, for girl bondings, for saving us from earthquakes, for UST adventures, for Handog 2011, and for letting me reflect.
Thank You for more sleep overs with the favorite, for kimbab, samgyupsal, and bibimbap, for surprises, for online shopping, and for letting me be one of the organizers for Color Your White Night: The OrComSoc Acquaintance Party 2011.
Thank You for Adorra’s Shawarma, for karaoke, friends and more surprises, for letting me learn new things (i.e. commuting from Sucat), and for meeting new people.
Thank You for giving me extra 1k to spend on my guilty pleasure (lol), for friends, shawarma rice and bagoong rice, for my brief internship experience, for another year in my life and the spontaneous out of town celebration, for wedding videos, for hair cuts and for letting me beat my previous driving speed record, and for making my birthmonth awesome.
Thank You for extending my birthday and letting me have post birthday celebrations, for letting my parents realize that I am already old enough to travel without them, for letting me cheer up people with music, for my bbgirls, and for making November as awesome as October.
Thank You for extra ordinary experiences, for awesome groupmates and friends, for letting me do well in my statistics exam, for bacsilog, pasta, kwek kwek and milk tea, for my family who didn’t fail to cheer me up last Christmas and new year, and for late new year surprises.
I hope this year would be as awesome as the last. Thank You for 2011. Thank You.
